IberiCOS 2020 — 15th Iberian Cosmology Meeting

MapDepartamento de Física, Universidade de Coimbra

The meeting has been postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2020 edition of the Iberian Cosmology Meeting (IberiCOS 2020) will be held at the University of Coimbra. This series of meetings is aimed at encouraging the interaction and collaboration between researchers working in Cosmology and related areas in Portugal and Spain. Researchers working in other countries are also most welcome.

These meetings are designed to encourage the presentation of work in progress. In this same spirit, the meetings will not be restricted to a single focused topic, but are open to cosmologists in the broadest sense, from mathematical cosmology and theoretical particle physics to observational astrophysics. Stimulating interactions between theorists and observers is also a particular concern of the organisers.

Particle Systems and PDEs VIII

MapAnfiteatro Abreu Faro, Instituto Superior Técnico, Av. Rovisco Pais, Lisboa

The idea of the meeting is to get together researchers from two different areas of mathematics, namely Particle Systems and Partial Differential Equations, and to present recent scientific results in both areas.

We expect the participation of a vast audience, including young researchers and PhD students, and we intend to present and exploit the interdisciplinary nature of mathematics as well as its applications in various areas.

Higher Structures and Applications mini-meeting

@ Departamento de Matemática, Instituto Superior Técnico, Campus da Alameda

In this 2-day mini-meeting, members of the FCT-funded project Higher Structures and Applications (PTDC/MAT-PUR/31089/2017) will be explaining aspects of their research to each other and to anyone else interested, in short presentations with plenty of room for discussion.

WOT 19 — Women in Operator Theory and its Applications

MapSala P3.10, Pavilhão de Matemática, Instituto Superior Técnico

The Women in Operator Theory and its Applications workshop targets the narrowing of the gender gap in this broad, active and wide ranging branch of functional analysis. By presenting the vast research opportunities and the most recent results in operator theory and related topics, we aim at attracting early career female mathematicians to this area, fostering contacts between different generations of mathematicians, and promoting dialogue in a friendly atmosphere. It is however open to anyone interested.

Advances in Applied Mathematical Analysis and Numerical Methods: Ten Years of CoLab

@ The University of Texas at Austin

The UT Austin | Portugal CoLab Program in Applied Mathematics has been running for 10 years now. It has been remarkably successful in promoting research collaboration and providing mobility opportunities for faculty members, as well as in hosting doctoral and post-doctoral students, especially in the field of applied PDEs. The meeting Advances in Applied Mathematical Analysis and Numerical Methods: Ten Years of CoLab brings together many of the researchers who have been directly or indirectly involved in the program, to report on recent achievements while paving the way for future collaborations. Topics covered range from the analysis of PDEs to more computational aspects and applications in Science and Engineering.

7th IST-IME Meeting

MapInstituto de Matemática e Estatística, Universidade de São Paulo, Brasil

This meeting, whose scope will comprise Analysis and applications, aims to promote integration of researchers of both IST and IME (and other institutions), with the presentation of research works and plenary lectures of the participants.

This edition will honor Paulo Cordaro, on the occasion of his 65th birthday.

Workshop on Operator Theory, Complex Analysis, and Applications 2018 / WOTCA 2018

MapUniversidade do Minho, Guimarães, Portugal

The Workshop on Operator Theory, Complex Analysis, and Applications 2018 / WOTCA 2018 aims to bring together researchers working in Operator Theory, Complex Analysis, and their applications, namely in Mathematical Physics, and to create an opportunity to highlight the current state of the art in these fields, present open problems and engage in fruitful discussions.

This meeting follows the line of six previous workshops, WOTCA 2010, WOTCA 2012, 2-Day OTCA 2013, WOTCA 2014, WOTCA 2016 and WOTCA 2017.
