Workskop on Operator Theory, Complex Analysis, and Applications 2017 / WOTCA 2017

The Workskop on Operator Theory, Complex Analysis, and Applications 2017 / WOTCA 2017 will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, on 3-6 July 2017.

It aims to bring together researchers working in Operator Theory, Complex Analysis, and their applications, namely in Mathematical Physics, and to create an opportunity to highlight the current state of the art in these fields, present open problems and engage in fruitful discussions.

This meeting follows the line of five previous workshops, WOTCA 2010, WOTCA 2012, 2-Day OTCA 2013, WOTCA 2014, WOTCA 2016.

Quantum Spacetime ’17

The workshop will take place at Departamento de Física e Astronomia, Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto.

This workshop will address various aspects of noncommutative geometry (NCG) as covered by the COST Action MP1405 Quantum Structure of Spacetime (QSpace):

  • Connection of NCG with realistic phenomenological models, including the Standard Models of Particle Physics and Cosmology
  • New constructions of fields, matter and quantum spacetimes in NCG
  • Connections between NCG and other models of gravity

Iberian Strings 2017

The Iberian Strings 2017 meeting is the eighth meeting of the Iberian Strings series. These meetings bring together a large part of the string theory community of Spain and Portugal and aim at discussing recent advances in the field of strings and branes.

Particle Systems and PDEs V

The idea of the meeting is to get together researchers from two different areas of mathematics, namely Particle Systems and Partial Differential Equations, and to present recent scientific results in both areas.

Spanish-Portuguese Relativity Meeting 2016

The 2016 edition of the Spanish-Portuguese Relativity Meeting (EREP2016) will be held in Lisbon from 12 to 15 September, celebrating the centenary of the most famous solution of the Einstein field equations, the Schwarzschild solution. The topics of the plenary lectures will revolve around three main areas of research, namely Relativistic Astrophysics and Cosmology, Mathematical Relativity, and the interface between Gravitation and Quantum Theory, and reflect the intended broad scope of the meeting.

6th IST-IME Meeting

This meeting, whose scope comprises Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations and related topics, aims to promote integration of researchers of both IST and IME (and other institutions), with the presentation of research works and plenary lectures of the participants.

This edition will honor Waldyr Oliva, our extraordinary mathematical bridge across the South Atlantic.

Resurgence in Gauge and String Theories

This is the 2016 International Meeting on applications of resurgent analysis and transseries within quantum mechanics, quantum field theory, gauge theory and string theory. Its emphasis covers from the latest mathematical developments and applications all the way towards understanding new (and old) nonperturbative phenomena within diverse physical examples.
