TOTA2021 is a hybrid conference, with both online and in-person talks, taking place at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, on June 25, 2021. It will be held alongside and in coordination with WOTCA 2021.

Its main goals are to foster contact between leading mathematicians and younger researchers and to create a network of research support with ties for active collaborations.

TOTA 2021 welcomes talks by graduate students and young researchers on Operator Theory and related topics.

The meeting is supported by CAMGSD/Center for Mathematical Analysis, Geometry and Dynamical Systems of Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, through project UID/MAT/04459/2020 and by the National Science Foundation Conference Award DMS-1956360.

This meeting aims to bring together researchers working in Operator Theory, Complex Analysis, and their applications, in particular Mathematical Physics, and to create an opportunity to highlight the current state of the art in these fields, to present open problems and to promote  collaborative discussions.

The meeting follows the line of six previous workshops, WOTCA 2010, WOTCA 2012, 2-Day OTCA 2013, WOTCA 2014, WOTCA 2016, WOTCA 2017 and WOTCA 2018. The main difference with respect to the previous WOTCA meetings will be that we will have online talks, which we expect to be the norm, but we plan to conjugate them with some in-person talks.

Este encontro surge na sequência da conferência Women in Mathematics Meeting que se realizou em 2019. A 2ª edição prevista para 2021 foi adiada para 2022 por causa da pandemia. Pretende-se com este encontro mostrar o percurso e os interesses científicos de mulheres matemáticas portuguesas, para além de focar alguns temas que influenciam a sua carreira profissional. 

A primeira parte do encontro será preenchida com quatro palestras proferidas por matemáticas portuguesas que lecionam e investigam em Universidades fora de Portugal, a segunda parte terá uma mesa redonda dedicada à situação atual e perspetivas das mulheres matemáticas em Portugal.

O Encontro Iberian Strings 2021 é o 12º encontro da série Iberian Strings. Estes encontros reúnem grande parte da comunidade de teoria de cordas de Espanha e de Portugal e têm como objectivo discutir avanços recentes no campo da teoria das cordas e branas.

This workshop aims on the one hand at presenting and discussing recent research trends and open problems in operator theory and, on the other hand, at building a network focused on active collaborative research, geared to attract female mathematicians to operator theory and related areas. It will include a succinct overview of state-of-the-art techniques and recent results in operator theory and its applications; intensive group problem-solving sessions with each working group led by 1-2 project leaders and involving graduate students/postdocs, early career researchers, and more experienced researchers to discuss possible strategies and solutions to open problems; structured conversations focused on career and research advancement and teaching pedagogy; and ample social periods for informal discussions.

The intensive week of PDEs is a joint initiative of some research groups in Italy (Turin and Rome) and Portugal (Lisbon), which allows to continue the exchange of ideas within the PDE community in this strange period, where scientific travels have stopped.

Each day there will be a session of the mini-course and a talk given by one of the participants. Then in the remaining time people would be able to organize in small groups in order to discuss research (ongoing or new). The meeting aims to intensify the existing collaborations and to stimulate interactions between participants.

A edição 2020 do Encontro Ibérico de Cosmologia (IberiCOS 2020) decorrerá na Universidade de Coimbra. Esta série de encontros pretende encorajar a interacção e colaboração entre investigadores trabalhando em Cosmologia e áreas relacionadas em Portugal e Espanha. Investigadores de outros países também são bem vindos.

Os encontros foram concebidos para encorajar a apresentação de trabalhos em curso. No mesmo espírito, os encontros não serão restringidos a um tópico único, mas são abertos a cosmoçogistasno sentido mais lato, desde cosmologia matemática e física teórica a astrofísica observacional. O estímulo de interacções entre teóricos e observacionais é também uma das preocupações particulares dos organizadores.

As Palestras IST em Geometria Algébrica e Física tiveram início em 1999 e têm como objectivo ajudar a compreender e fortalecer pontes entre áreas promissoras de Geometria Algébrica e de Física.

Em 2020 estarão a cargo de Jean-Pierre Ramis e Philip Boalch.

A ideia do encontro é reunir investigadores de duas áreas distintas de matemática, Sistemas de Partículas e Equações Diferenciais Parciais, e apresentar resultados científicos recentes em ambas as áreas.

Contamos com a partição de uma vasta audiência, incluindo jovens investigadores e estudantes de doutoramento, e pretendemos apresentar e explorar a natureza interdisciplinar da matemática e as suas aplicações em várias áreas.
