Outreach activities

CAMGSD and its members consider the involvement in outreach programs targeted at youngsters interested in Mathematics to be very important. Particularly relevant, among these, are the participation in the Ciência Viva nas Férias program and various activities involving partnership protocols with several schools (7th to 12th grade).

• Ricardo Schiappa was a guest speaker at Collision Talks: Should we really stop AI? (2023).

• João Lopes Costa participated in the debate Inteligência Artificial no ensino, investigação e sociedade: ameaça ou oportunidade? at Jornadas da Matemática, Estatística e Aplicações, Universidade Aberta, Montijo (2023).

• Luis Filipe Costa participated in the Jornadas de Ciência de Arouca 2022, co-mentoring high school students.
